The profession has radically evolved over the last 10 years, professionalization and regulation have allowed,
investigations and an administration of the proof in adequacy with the French legal system.
The activity of private detective is governed by Law No. 83-629 of 12 July 1983 relating to security professions amended by Law No. 2003-239 of 18 March 2003 on internal security and codified by
the Internal Security Code Book VI Title II
(Order n ° 2012-351 of March 12, 2012).
As well as by
a code of ethics
which states among other things:
the duty of advice, professional secrecy, justification of remuneration, respect for the fundamental interests of the Nation and business secrecy.
